You can plan every detail of your wedding but the one thing you have no control over is the weather. Just because you book a wedding in June doesn’t mean that you can guarantee back to back sunshine…..but when can we with the British weather?! Joanne & Geoff’s day was still full of sunny smiles & happiness despite the weather! We photographed their wedding at the lovely Notley Tythe Barn near Long Crendon. We captured images of the Groom, Best Man & guests mingling in the barn before they took their seats & awaited the arrival of the bride. We always take images of the rings before the service but Joanne & Geoff’s were beautifully made by our very talented friend Lisa Marie who is Designer Goldsmith. We love her work so much she made our engagement & wedding rings!Joanne looked beautiful when she arrived & there was barely a dry eye in the house as she walked down the aisle. The buttonholes, Brides & Bridesmaids bouquets & flowers were grown & arranged by the wonderful Rachel from Green & Gorgeous. They really were a wonderful mix of everything ‘June’ Love in the Mist, Poppies & Peonies. Mark has been doing some photography for Green & Gorgeous so we visited on the day before the wedding & captured some images of Rachel picking & arranging the beautiful flowers. After a lovely service in the barn we photographed the group shots during the drinks reception before Joanne, Geoff & their guests were seated in the main barn for the wedding breakfast. Due to the inclement weather meaning we couldn’t go outside for the shots of the Bride & Groom I returned the barn in the early evening. As I got back they were doing the speeches so I whipped the camera out & took a few of the laughs & emotions. I then took Joanne & Geoff outside for some shots of the two of them. We couldn’t go to far afield as the ground was so wet but I am really pleased with the images I took of them in the wonderful rural setting of the barn. I left the couple enjoying the rest of their wedding day. We hope you enjoy your sneak peek Joanne & Geoff. Wishing you every happiness!
Recently I photographed the wedding of Robert & Emma at The Compleat Angler in Marlow.
Now considering the beauty of the River Thames as it winds its way through Oxfordshire, Berkshire & Buckinghamshire there are very few venues that can rival The Compleat Angler‘s position right on the river with unparalleled views of the Marlow Weir. This was one of those weddings where everything was in one place so Kiti & I arrived together before Kiti joined the groom & I went to find where the bridal party were getting ready.Emma was with her bridesmaids & family getting ready at the hotel. I’ve said this before but I love this part of the day capturing the bride getting ready to meet her groom surrounded by her friends & family.Whilst I was with Emma, Kiti was with Robert, his Dad who was his Best Man & his Ushers getting some shots before he made his way into the ceremony room to await his bride. Before long it was time for Emma to make the short walk from her room to walk up the aisle with her Mum & Dad. After the service we gathered everyone out in front of the hotel & I ran up onto Marlow bridge to take a shot before doing the rest of the group shots.I then took Emma & Robert off do some stylish shots of the two of them. With any wedding in Marlow it’s got to include the obligatory shot on the bridge with the help of the ushers to stop traffic!I never like to keep the couple away from their guests for too long so it was then time for them to return to the wedding breakfast, speeches & cake cutting. After a delicious meal & some great speeches it was time for Emma & Robert’s first dance before everyone joined them on the dance floor. Kiti & I joined them on the dance floor to get some shots of everyone having fun. As always, rather like a couple of Cinderella’s we wound our way homewards leaving everyone having fun! Many congratulations Emma & Robert, wishing you every happiness for your future together. We hope you enjoy your sneak peek!
Recently Kiti & I found ourselves back on the banks of the river Thames at The Compleat Angler in Marlow. We were there for the wedding of Pete & Laura.Firstly I dropped Kiti off at The Crowne Plaza where she met with Pete & his best man before making the short hop onto The Compleat Angler.Meanwhile I was with Laura & her bridesmaid in the Sandingham suite at The Compleat Angler. I love this part of the day capturing some shots of the bride & bridesmaid preparing for the big day.Of course getting ready at the hotel meant that Laura only had a short walk on her Dad’s arm to the main hotel building to meet her groom in front of their friends & family. After a lovely service we made our way outside & whilst guests mingled with a glass of champagne we took some group shots. I do keep these to a minimum as group shots can take a little while and I would hate to be known as the photographer who kept everyone waiting about, causing their champagne to loose its fizz! It was now time for everyone to board a wonderful traditional Victorian steam boat the SL Streatley for a trip on the Thames.
It was a lovely trip & everyone really enjoyed their time on the boat – photographer & assistant included! Once we were back on dry land Kiti & I took the Bride & Groom away to do some shots of the two of them together. This included, of course, stopping traffic & getting some obligatory shots on the bridge! We now let the Bride & Groom get back to their guests & they made their entrance into their wedding reception to a round of applause. After some great speeches & a delicious meal it was time for cutting the cake & Laura & Pete’s first dance. As everyone joined them on the dance floor there was one particular groovy dancer!
As always Kiti & I left them tearing up the dance floor. We hope you enjoy your sneak peek Laura & Pete. Congratulations & wishing you both every happiness!
Recently Kiti & I were at the ‘Happily Ever After’ party for Helen & Pete.Helen & Pete were married earlier in the year in Florida & this evening was their chance to celebrate with their friends & family who weren’t at the wedding.
We started late afternoon by taking a Helen & Pete off for a few shots before their guests arrived. The Tythe Barn has lovely grounds & we used the folly, shepherds hut & a lovely bench for some romantic shots of the two of them. Before long it was time for them to return to the barn to greet their guests.
After a drinks reception & group shots in the garden it was time for everyone to take their seats to enjoy an English/American afternoon tea including American-style slider burgers & delicious scones with jam & clotted cream.
When time came for Helen & Pete to leave their guests lined up & with a wave of sparklers the bride & groom made their way home. We hope you enjoy your sneak peek Helen & Pete. Wishing you every happiness!
Recently we had the wedding of Katie & Gavin in the lovely village of Brill in Buckinghamshire.I started the day at Long Crendon Manor to meet Katie & her bridesmaids before making our way to the church. We stopped off at a lovely village pub The Nut Tree in Murcott & enjoyed a quick drink in sunshine before travelling on to All Saints Church, Brill.Meanwhile, Kiti was with the groom & best man as they gathered in a friends garden with their friends & family before making the short hop to the church to meet his bride. It was now time for the bride’s arrival & Katie looked beautiful as she walked up the aisle to be married.
After the service the guest gathered on the lovely village green for some group shots & to cover the Bride & Groom in confetti! It was then time to make to short journey to The Pheasant Inn also in Brill for the wedding reception. After allowing them some time to mingle with their guests Kiti & I took Katie & Gavin for a wander to do some shots of the two of them together. Brill is a lovely village with far reaching views across five counties & has a beautiful traditional windmill that we used to get some great shots. I try not to keep the couple away from their guests for too long so it was now time for Katie & Gavin to be welcomed into the marquee by their guests & to enjoy a delicious meal & some great speeches. After the speeches it was time for the evening guests to arrive & everyone to get down on the dancefloor. We hope you enjoy your sneak peek Katie & Gavin. Wishing you every happiness!
Recently I photographed the wedding of Kristina & Craig at Hedsor House. Hedsor is a beautiful venue & has been used as a location in many films & TV programmes such as Quartet & Spooks.
Kristina & Craig both got ready at the venue so once Kiti & I arrived we started taking photographs with the Bride & Groom. I always photograph the bridal preparations & found Kristina in the beautiful bridal dressing suite located on the first floor. It soon will be one of the largest bridal suites in Britain & certainly offered everything that a bridal party should need. It is always wonderful to be part of the day from the start to capture the all-important ‘ceremony’ of the bride & her bridesmaids getting into their finery!
While I was with the bride Kiti found the groom, best man, ushers & dad’s & got some great, stylish shots of the lads on the steps of the main entrance.
Now it was time for Kristina to make the short walk from the bridal suite to meet her groom in The Centre Hall where their guests were waiting in anticipation.
After a lovely service the guests followed the bride & groom to the lawns at the side of the house that has beautiful views across the grounds & countryside beyond.
After the group shots we borrowed Kristina & Craig for a little while to do some stylish shots of the happy couple in the wonderful grounds of Hedsor House. Kristina is a veterinary nurse so loved the shots in the countryside with some four-legged friends.
By now it was time for Kristina & Craig to return to their guests for the wedding breakfast. Craig is a chef so you can imagine that the food was an important part of the day for him. The absolutely delicious dinner was prepared & served by the fantastic Liz & her team from Cavendish Events. They also did a hog roast for the guests to have later in the evening during the dancing. After the beautiful meal, speeches & performance by the flowergirls it was time for cutting the cake, first dance it was time to hit the dancefloor. Wishing you every happiness Kristina & Craig. Hope you enjoy your sneak peek & we will be in touch with your album proof soon!
Wedding season is truly underway at Mark Lord Photography & last weekend Kiti & I travelled to the lovely village of Evenley in Northamptonshire for the wedding of Amy & Tom.
Kiti started her day with the groom at his family home in Evenley & I was with the bridal party getting some preparation shots before making the journey to the church. Its always an exciting part of the day & I always love the moment that Mum & Dad see their daughter in her wedding dress.
I love this shot of Amy & her Mum enjoying a moment before she walks into church on the arm of her dad.
After a lovely service we made our way to Notley Tythe Barn, Long Crendon near the border of Buckinghamshire & Oxfordshire. The barn is in lovely countryside & offers some rural backdrops for some great couple shots.
Our bride even made a play on her maiden name & wore a bright yellow pair of Hunter wellies around the farm!
After a wander around the farm it was time for the bride & groom to mingle with their guests before making their entrance into the wedding breakfast.
As always Kiti & I were quite the Cinderella’s & left everyone on the dancefloor!
Hope you love your sneak peek Amy & Tom, we’ll be in touch with the rest of your images soon!
