A Wedding at Henley & Hedsor House – Camilla & Rob’s Sneak Peek!

Camilla & Rob were recently married at St Mary’s Church, Henley-on-Thames & Hedsor House. It was a beautiful, sunny Spring morning as Kiti, Becky & I set off to Hedsor House.335-CRR-KS-MLP20763-115I was to photograph Camilla getting ready in the beautiful surroundings of the Bridal Suite so I was dropped off & Becky & Kiti made the journey to Henley for the first time of the day.

001-CRR-ML-MLP30006-1The Bridal Suite at Hedsor is such a wonderful place to prepare for your wedding day. It is one of the largest Bridal Suites in Europe & provides the ultimate space to enjoy your most special day together with your bridesmaids & close family.

034-CRR-ML-MLP30138-36It was just lovely on this sunny morning with the large windows filling the space with warmth and natural light. It has been decorated in soft ivory tones & plush furnishings so is a photographers dream!017-CRR-ML-MLP30078-19 020-CRR-ML-MLP30088-22 055-CRR-ML-MLP30213-56Meanwhile Kiti had arrived in Henley to meet with the Groom, Rob, his Best Man & Usher. They had met for a drink at The Bull & Kiti got some lovely shots of Rob & the lads there before making their way via the River Thames to the church.

072-CRR-KS-MLP20090-10 114-CRR-KS-MLP20166-24 078-CRR-KS-MLP20102-13Back at Hedsor House, Camilla was making her final preparations in the bridal suite before gliding down the stunning staircase & into the awaiting Rolls Royce Silver Cloud.

Once we got within striking distance I jumped out the car, made a run for it over the bridge & got there just in time!

141-CRR-ML-MLP30418-106 148-CRR-KS-IMG_3115-53 150-CRR-ML-MLP30448-112The service was just lovely, Camilla is a teacher at a Henley school & some girls from the school sang beautifully at the wedding. It was wonderful to see what an exciting day it was for them.217-CRR-ML-MLP30659-168We gathered everyone either side of the church path & Camilla & Rob made their way through a confetti tunnel & the congratulations of their friends & family.230-CRR-ML-MLP30732-180Meanwhile, Becky was waiting just around the corner to pick us up & run us back to Hedsor so we were in place to capture the Bride & Grooms arrival.

249-CRR-ML-MLP30827-200 251-CRR-ML-MLP30837-202They were soon joined by their guests who arrived back in two fabulous double decker London busses. The vehicles all looked fantastic lined up outside the impressive frontage of the house.277-CRR-ML-MLP30898-221The guests made their way into the galleried centre hall of the house & we took a moment to do the group shots outside the house. It’s such a wonderful backdrop & really adds to the splendor of the day.304-CRR-ML-MLP31072-242 310-CRR-ML-MLP31139-249 317-CRR-ML-MLP31199-256 324-CRR-ML-MLP31246-263We then took Camilla & Rob to do some stylish shots of the two of the in the grounds. Hedsor House is perched high above the River Thames and set in over 100 acres of historic parkland. We got some lovely shots of them in the parkland & outside the house.

This was really good fun & an unusual way of doing a photo of everyone!379-CRR-KS-MLP20841-130After this, the guests made their way into the Grand Ballroom for the wedding breakfast & speeches. When you book Hedsor House it is as a dry hire so your wedding planner or caterers run the day. Camilla & Rob used a fantastic company called Caper & Berry who I have worked with before. They were amazing on the day & the food was delicious!429-CRR-KS-MLP20931-156 438-CRR-ML-MLP31666-330 439-CRR-ML-MLP31669-331 442-CRR-ML-MLP31674-333 450-CRR-ML-MLP31687-340 469-CRR-KS-MLP20987-170 505-CRR-ML-MLP31804-384 507-CRR-ML-MLP31810-386 516-CRR-KS-MLP21038-188After a wonderful meal & much laughter it was time for Camilla & Rob to cut their cake & then have their first dance. We positioned Kiti up on the gallery & I love the shots she captured of them alone on the dancefloor before being joined by their wedding guests!556-CRR-KS-MLP21117-206 561-CRR-ML-MLP31914-422 565-CRR-KS-MLP21131-210 571-CRR-ML-MLP31938-430 574-CRR-ML-MLP31946-432 578-CRR-ML-MLP31958-436 586-CRR-ML-MLP31973-442 602-CRR-ML-MLP32040-456As always Kiti & I left everyone dancing the night away. Hedsor House has 10 gorgeous guest bedrooms for the Bride, Groom & closest guests so when the day was over all they had to do was wind their way up the sweeping staircase.

We hope you enjoy your sneak peek Camilla & Rob, wishing you every happiness

Kristina & Craig – A Sneak Peek

Recently I photographed the wedding of Kristina & Craig at Hedsor House. Hedsor is a beautiful venue & has been used as a location in many films & TV programmes such as Quartet & Spooks.

002-KCH-KS-IMG_6031-1

Kristina & Craig both got ready at the venue so once Kiti & I arrived we started taking photographs with the Bride & Groom. I always photograph the bridal preparations & found Kristina in the beautiful bridal dressing suite located on the first floor. It soon will be one of the largest bridal suites in Britain & certainly offered everything that a bridal party should need. It is always wonderful to be part of the day from the start to capture the all-important ‘ceremony’ of the bride & her bridesmaids getting into their finery!

068-KCH-ML-IMG_8546-55

While I was with the bride Kiti found the groom, best man, ushers & dad’s & got some great, stylish shots of the lads on the steps of the main entrance.

056-KCH-KS-IMG_6091-6

Now it was time for Kristina to make the short walk from the bridal suite to meet her groom in The Centre Hall where their guests were waiting in anticipation.

122-KCH-ML-IMG_8658-83 092-KCH-KS-IMG_6246-25

After a lovely service the guests followed the bride & groom to the lawns at the side of the house that has beautiful views across the grounds & countryside beyond.

178-KCH-ML-IMG_8786-119 180-KCH-KS-IMG_6504-61

During the drinks reception Kiti & I used the front of the house as a fantastically stylish backdrop for the group shots.209-KCH-ML-IMG_8947-141

After the group shots we borrowed Kristina & Craig for a little while to do some stylish shots of the happy couple in the wonderful grounds of Hedsor House. Kristina is a veterinary nurse so loved the shots in the countryside with some four-legged friends.

252-KCH-ML-IMG_9155-170

By now it was time for Kristina & Craig to return to their guests for the wedding breakfast. Craig is a chef so you can imagine that the food was an important part of the day for him. The absolutely delicious dinner was prepared & served by the fantastic Liz & her team from Cavendish Events. They also did a hog roast for the guests to have later in the evening during the dancing. After the beautiful meal, speeches & performance by the flowergirls it was time for cutting the cake, first dance it was time to hit the dancefloor.571-KCH-ML-IMG_0018-408 558-KCH-KS-IMG_7154-156Wishing you every happiness Kristina & Craig. Hope you enjoy your sneak peek & we will be in touch with your album proof soon!221-KCH-ML-IMG_8979-146

Georgie & Maarten – A Sneak Peek

There is nothing better for a photographer than to be booked to photograph a wedding through recommendation & today’s bride & groom found me through word of mouth. Georgie & Maarten were married at Holy Trinity, Penn & their reception was held at the stunning Hedsor House.

307-GMD-KS-IMG_3198-135

Kiti, my assistant, started the day at the beautiful Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons. Maarten, the groom, stayed there the night before the wedding with his family who had travelled over from Holland for the wedding. The gardens at Le Manoir were a great backdrop for some great family shots & photos of Maarten & his Best-Men.

24-GMD-KS-IMG_2592-28

Meanwhile, I was at the brides family home where she got ready with her family & bridesmaids. I love the shots of Georgie walking down the stairs towards her proud Mum & Dad & bridesmaids.

97-GMD-ML-IMG_0267-45

I then popped into the car with the bridesmaids to travel to the church & found myself on the other side of the camera when Father-of-the-Bride filmed us as we drove away!

122-GMD-ML-IMG_0366-64 After a beautiful service Georgie & Maarten greeted their guests in the churchyard & came out of the church door in a flurry of confetti.

268-GMD-KS-IMG_3072-120

We then travelled to Hedsor House for the reception. Hedsor House is a fantastic venue for a photographer providing some fabulous architecture & gardens for some stylish Bride & Groom shots.

339-GMD-ML-IMG_1149-227 359-GMD-ML-IMG_1305-247 361-GMD-ML-IMG_1322-249

And some great opportunities for some dynamic shots with your bridal party!

GMD-ML-IMG_1506-1

Georgie & Maarten had their speeches spaced throughout the wedding breakfast which included a noise off – who could be the noisiest table & the table who won had to do shots or nominate another table and some very interesting videos including the Bride & Groom’s fathers & a slideshow. It was a really fun reception with lots of laughter that shows in the photos.

488-GMD-ML-IMG_1878-365 489-GMD-KS-IMG_3573-173

After the speeches there was a fantastic firework display. Fireworks aren’t always the easiest thing to photograph but I was really pleased with the images I got on the night.

616-GMD-ML-IMG_2228-459 622-GMD-KS-IMG_3905-220 Then it was time for everyone to hit the dancefloor & have fun. I left as they were dancing the night away……

626-GMD-ML-IMG_2290-469 Hope you love your sneaky peek Georgie & Maarten. Wishing you long & happy lives together.

#Highland Cattle at #Hedsor House #Wedding #Photography

I had a recent enquiry for a wedding at Hedsor House and we got talking about the Highland cattle there. It got me looking through some images from a wedding I photographed there a couple of years ago. The highland cattle at Hedsor are a fantastic sight as you drive up to the house and are certainly a talking point for your guests at your wedding. Here is a picture of the lovely Lauren and Chris with one of the cattle in the foreground.

More images from Hedsor house can be seen on this blog by searching Hedsor in the search bar at the top and also on my website http://www.marklordphotography.co.uk

Last Saturday, what a day.

Firstly I awoke to lovely weather. The 1st June – ‘Is this the start of Summer’ I asked myself?

On Saturday Sarah (one of my assistants) and I photographed the wedding of Kathryn and David at Christ Church, Henley on Thames and then onto one of my favourite Buckinghamshire wedding venues, the magnificent Hedsor House. When I initially got an enquiry from Kathryn for wedding photography and was told it was a Hedsor House I was thrilled. You only have to look at the Hedsor House website to realise how fabulous it is with all of the awards and accolades awarded within the wedding industry.

If you have got this far then you may wish to take a closer look at what Hedsor can offer for your wedding day.
Kathryn got ready at Hotel Du Vin in Henley on Thames with her bridesmaids whilst David travelled up to Henley from Winchester on the morning of the big day. The service was a very special occasion at Christ Church, Henley on Thames as the church was very personal to Kathryn’s family. Her parents got married in the church and her grandfather was very involved in the church and even made the weather vane that adorns the church spire!
After a lovely service, the bride and groom went in a beautiful Bentley supplied by Christophers whilst the guests were all taken to the venue by coach.
On arrival at Hedsor House I heard comments such as ‘Its like something from a fairytale’ as the entrance to Hedsor House is so grand, long sweeping driveway, through the beautiful gardens and parkland before passing the highland cattle and finally seeing this magnificent house in front of you. With a beautiful blue sky it really was like something from a fairytale.
Entertainment was provided for the guests in the form of a Dixieland Jazz band playing in front of the house and a very popular Ice cream trike on the terrace provided by Benecci Ice Cream Bikes The beautiful flowers were all supplied by Hot Flowers and Art at nearby Wooburn Green, and the sensationally delicious catering by Caper and Berry.
The whole operation was meticulously organised by Kathryn with the help of Rachael from Serendipity Wedding Planning who did a fantastic job at keeping proceedings going as well as organising some gigantic balloons!
So without further ado here is Kathryn and David’s sneeky peek. I will be working on their images over the next few weeks and hope to show you all some more soon.

#Henley on Thames Pre-Wedding Shoot

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting up with Kathryn and David who are getting married later this year in Henley with a reception at Hedsor House. With their love of Henley where better a place to have their pre-wedding shoot than by the river Thames. I’m sure when they booked their pre wedding shoot for the end of March they were imagining drifts of golden daffodils and signs of spring all around. However, due to the weather in recent weeks the daffodils were a bit sparse . I still managed to get some fantastic shots of the two of them using some of my favourite locations in and around Henley.

I’m so looking forward to their big day!

Here are a few of the pictures from their shoot…..Henley Photographer 1a Oxfordshire Photographer 2
