Marlborough Wedding Photography – Nic & Jono, A Sneak Peek

The other Saturday I found myself heading to Wick Bottom Barn near Marlborough for a wedding. It’s a little way out of my ‘normal’ area but as Mrs Lord is from the area its my home from home. We met there 11 years ago now when I was working at a photographic studio in Savernake Forest & Becky was a picture framer. I worked with a great team there & one of the team I trained was Nicola. We stayed in touch over the years, mainly thanks to Facebook & Instagram & have seen her family grow with her boyfriend Jono & their gorgeous girls Willow & Lottie. I was really thrilled when Nic & Jono got in touch & asked me to photograph their wedding.nja-mlp35637-201They did the legal part of getting married on the Thursday in Marlborough & the day on Saturday included a humanist ceremony in front of their friends & family. Kiti & I both started at the barn & we captured some images of Jono finishing off getting ready & with his Best Man & Ushers before welcoming the guests.nja-mlp26693-36

They gathered themselves together & made their way into the barn, with Nicola being given away by her very proud brother.nja-mlp35374-113 nja-mlp35381-115 nja-mlp35388-121It was a lovely service conducted by Jono’s step-brother John & Nicola & Jono made their way out to the congratulations of their loved ones.nja-mlp35416-147 nja-mlp35422-151 nja-mlp35426-154 nja-mlp35429-155 nja-mlp35433-158They had a really relaxed day & they mingled with their guests whilst drinking fabulous cocktails mixed by The Rovin’ Bar. Their younger guests (& some of the older guests!) had great fun on the bouncy castle & huge slide.nja-mlp35443-163 nja-mlp35463-170 nja-mlp35826-271 nja-mlp36006-322 nja-mlp35958-1 nja-mlp35994-319We took Nic & Jono off into the countryside to do some shots of the two of them before coming back to get the girls to do some shots of the four of them. The guests were sat banquet-style at long trestle tables as they enjoyed delicious hog roast & slow roast brisket. After the gorgeous meal it was time for some great speeches with lots of laughter & tears.nja-mlp36128-354 nja-mlp36131-356 nja-mlp36140-363 nja-mlp36190-394 nja-mlp36160-376 nja-mlp36200-404Nicola & Jono were surrounded by their friends & families as they enjoyed their first dance before everyone joined them for a dance or two!

A #Ramsbury #Wedding #Wiltshire

A few weeks ago Jack and I were back in Jack’s home village of Ramsbury, Wiltshire. It’s a place very close to my wife & I as that is where we kindled our relationship; over a few coca-colas in the local pub,The Bell. Still that’s another story for another day. In the meantime, a mutual friend of ours and the bride and groom’s recommended me for their wedding photography.

Laurie and Chis are local to Ramsbury and got married in Ramsbury’s Holy Cross Church with a reception at a nearby barn called Wick Bottom Barn near Barbury Castle, Marlborough. The barn is a great venue if you are looking for a blank canvas to put your own stamp on and Laurie and Chris really made it their own. Typically for August we had a few heavy showers but this did not dampen proceedings too much. We managed to do the few group photographs outside of the church and a picture of everyone at the barn, in between showers!! Then the rain stopped for a good half an hour and we nipped off into the nearby Wiltshire countryside to get some pictures of Laurie and Chris together. The barn is well positioned for Marlborough and Swindon and the M4 yet is set in an idyllic location with absolutely nothing surrounding it except rolling countryside!

With speeches before the meal we stayed to capture them before leaving everyone to enjoy the rest of the day. Laurie and Chris also had the great idea of asking those with tents to camp over in the grounds surrounding the barn. There was a great selection of tents there but none as cool as the tent Laurie and Chris had for the night, a bell tent lent to them, complete with chandelier, by my sister-in-law.

Laurie and Chris are now on their honeymoon in Venice but here is a sneaky peek of some of the images from their big day.
