Recently we photographed the wedding of Emily & James in Haddenham & Notley Tythe Barn.Becky helped us out with a transport as we had some different village locations & village parking is never easy! Becky & Kiti dropped me off at Emily’s parents home where she was getting ready. Kiti wasn’t photographing James getting ready so they went to our favourite coffee shop conveniently located in Haddenham called Little Italy. I was very envious to hear they enjoyed a delicious slice of cake with their coffee too! Whilst the girls were chatting over a coffee I was photographing Emily & her bridesmaids getting ready along with the gorgeous Oscar.Becky dropped Kiti at the church where she took some images of James & his family before the guests started to arrive. They had a beautiful vintage Rolls Royce that took them in turns to the church & just as Emily & her dad were ready to leave Becky popped back & dropped me at the church so I was ready for Emily’s arrival. She made her way into the church on the arm of her dad with an expectant groom waiting for her.
After a lovely service the new Mr & Mrs Rhead made their way out of the church & were congratulated by their friends & families. They walked out of the churchyard to a flurry of confetti & we then did some group shots on the village green. We then made our way to Notley Tythe Barn where they were holding their reception. We did some of the larger group shots here before we took Emily & James off for some stylish couple shots. It was soon time for Emily & James to join their friends & families for the wedding breakfast in the beautiful barn. After the wedding breakfast it was time for cutting the cake & hitting the dancefloor, I love that Emily had a dance with her dad, her new husband & they were then joined by their son Oscar. Soon everyone joined them & Kiti & left them all dancing the night away.
Hope you enjoy your sneak peek Emily & James, Wishing you every happiness!
You can plan every detail of your wedding but the one thing you have no control over is the weather. Just because you book a wedding in June doesn’t mean that you can guarantee back to back sunshine…..but when can we with the British weather?! Joanne & Geoff’s day was still full of sunny smiles & happiness despite the weather! We photographed their wedding at the lovely Notley Tythe Barn near Long Crendon. We captured images of the Groom, Best Man & guests mingling in the barn before they took their seats & awaited the arrival of the bride. We always take images of the rings before the service but Joanne & Geoff’s were beautifully made by our very talented friend Lisa Marie who is Designer Goldsmith. We love her work so much she made our engagement & wedding rings!Joanne looked beautiful when she arrived & there was barely a dry eye in the house as she walked down the aisle. The buttonholes, Brides & Bridesmaids bouquets & flowers were grown & arranged by the wonderful Rachel from Green & Gorgeous. They really were a wonderful mix of everything ‘June’ Love in the Mist, Poppies & Peonies.Mark has been doing some photography for Green & Gorgeous so we visited on the day before the wedding & captured some images of Rachel picking & arranging the beautiful flowers. After a lovely service in the barn we photographed the group shots during the drinks reception before Joanne, Geoff & their guests were seated in the main barn for the wedding breakfast.Due to the inclement weather meaning we couldn’t go outside for the shots of the Bride & Groom I returned the barn in the early evening. As I got back they were doing the speeches so I whipped the camera out & took a few of the laughs & emotions. I then took Joanne & Geoff outside for some shots of the two of them. We couldn’t go to far afield as the ground was so wet but I am really pleased with the images I took of them in the wonderful rural setting of the barn.I left the couple enjoying the rest of their wedding day. We hope you enjoy your sneak peek Joanne & Geoff. Wishing you every happiness!
Recently Kiti & I photographed the wedding of Nikki & Bren at Notley Tythe Barn near Long Crendon in Buckinghamshire. As there was some driving between locations Becky joined us to help with the logistics. First thing first we dropped Kiti off at Notley to meet up with the groom Bren & his Best Man & Ushers.
We then hotfooted it to Chesham where Nikki was getting ready at their home with her Mum & Bridesmaids. I spent the morning capturing some lovely shots of Nikki’s bridal preparations with everyone having hair & make up. I love the shot of Nikki’s mum helping her with her dress.
They all looked wonderful as they left home to make the journey to the barn for the wedding. I jumped in the car & we made a quick get away to make sure we got back to the barn ready for the Bride’s arrival.
The service was held in the main part of the barn in front of the window & was officiated by a family friend, which really added to the personal feeling to the service. After the ceremony Bren & Nikki made their way outside for a champagne reception & to be congratulated by their guests. After some mingling we did the group shots outside before taking the Bride & Groom off for some stylish Bride & Groom shots. The barn is set in a lovely rural location & has a variety of places that I take my couples to. Nikki was wearing a beautiful veil & I love the possibilities & textures that a veil can add to the images. On a windy day they can be problematic but no worries at this wedding & I love the shots of Nikki & Bren both under the veil.It was quite a chilly day so we didn’t spend too long outside before we went back to the barn so Nikki & Bren could join their guests for the wedding breakfast. After some great speeches…what was the Best Man saying to make Bren cover Nikki’s ears?!…It was time for cutting the cake, first dance & for everyone to hit the dancefloor. This was a great wedding for dance floor action, loads of people got up & there was some very enthusiastic dancing! As always, we left them dancing the night away…..
Many congratulations Bren & Nikki! We hope you love your sneak peek, there are lots more to come….
Wedding season is truly underway at Mark Lord Photography & last weekend Kiti & I travelled to the lovely village of Evenley in Northamptonshire for the wedding of Amy & Tom.
Kiti started her day with the groom at his family home in Evenley & I was with the bridal party getting some preparation shots before making the journey to the church. Its always an exciting part of the day & I always love the moment that Mum & Dad see their daughter in her wedding dress.
I love this shot of Amy & her Mum enjoying a moment before she walks into church on the arm of her dad.
After a lovely service we made our way to Notley Tythe Barn, Long Crendon near the border of Buckinghamshire & Oxfordshire. The barn is in lovely countryside & offers some rural backdrops for some great couple shots.
Our bride even made a play on her maiden name & wore a bright yellow pair of Hunter wellies around the farm!
After a wander around the farm it was time for the bride & groom to mingle with their guests before making their entrance into the wedding breakfast.
As always Kiti & I were quite the Cinderella’s & left everyone on the dancefloor!
Hope you love your sneak peek Amy & Tom, we’ll be in touch with the rest of your images soon!
Recently I photographed the winter wedding of Clare & Conor on a seasonably wintry Friday afternoon.
My day started with Clare at the beautiful Long Crendon Manor to capture some shots of her, her Mum & bridesmaids getting ready. The manor is a luxury bed & breakfast in a beautiful historical house. The house provided a picturesque setting for some stylish shots with the bride before she made the brief journey with her Dad to meet her groom….
Clare & Conor held their wedding & reception at another historical building in Long Crendon; Notley Tythe Barn. Last time I was at the barn it was in the middle of the summer & it was lovely to see the barn decorated for the season.
After the service I always take my bride & groom away for some shots of the two of them. I always strive for relaxed, stylish portraits of the happy couple that really capture the personality of the bride & groom. Clare & Conor are country lovers & were happy to pull on the wellies. So off we went into the countryside surrounding the barn & got some great images of the two of them….and a horse or two!
Not sure the horse was as happy to have his photograph taken as Clare & Conor!
Here is your sneaky peek Clare & Conor, many more great shots to come! Hope you enjoy your sneaky peek, it really was a pleasure to photograph your happy day. Wishing you all the best for a wonderful life together.
Well, we were a happy photographer & assistant recently when we set off for an afternoon wedding in beautiful sunshine.
L & D were married at Notley Tythe Barn near Long Crendon in Buckinghamshire surrounded by their friends & family. The barn is a fantastic backdrop & it looked beautiful adorned with vintage bunting made by The Vintage Bunting Company who are based near Henley-on-Thames.
The barn & surrounding farm lend a photographer a variety of backdrops for cool, personal bride & groom shots & the lawns outside are perfect for an alfresco drinks reception.
I would like to wish L & D every happiness for their future lives together. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!
Recently Clare and Conor booked me for their wedding photography at Notley Tythe Barn. I love a rustic wedding at a tythe barn so if you are getting married at one of the Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire or Wiltshire tythe barns please do get in touch!
I was at a wedding fair at Notley Tythe Barn, Long Crendon, near Thame and Clare and her Mum came by to see me and introduce themselves. We had a chat and before Clare left she mentioned bringing their dog to the pre wedding shoot. I really enjoy photographing dogs, I could photograph dogs all day long and in my time have photographed all sorts from terriers to Newfoundlands. It’s been a while since I have photographed an Old English Sheep dog but Clare and Conor brought their 8 month old ‘Old English’ with them to the shoot, called Eddie! I was a little taken back when I opened the door but not quite so as our cat who sensed something large and hairy at the door and legged it upstairs.
We headed off into the nearby South Oxfordshire fields with Eddie and we all had a blast. I am very much looking forward to their wedding later in the year at Notley Tythe Barn
Here are a few of my favourite images from the shoot.
This Sunday I will be at The Notley Tythe Barn, Long Crendon (near Thame) at their wedding fayre. It will be on from 11am to 3pm and if it’s anything like normal it will be brilliant.
