Wedding at Eynsham Hall, Stacey & Lewis – A Sneak Peek

Kiti & I recently photographed the wedding of Stacey & Lewis at All Saints, Cuddesdon & Eynsham Hall.STJ-ML--LORD4768-1I went straight to start photographing Stacey & her 6 bridesmaids getting ready at Eynsham Hall whilst Becky dropped Kiti off in Wheatley to shoot the boys getting styled up.STJ-KS--IMG_1806-11As you can imagine, with six bridesmaids, mother of the bride & a bride to get ready it was a hive of activity. I got some great shots of them all having their hair & make up done. My favourite moment was a real tear-jerker & I love the images that I took of Stacey’s Mum giving her a ring that she had commissioned ‘My first diamond for my first girl’ It really is an honour to be able to photograph these really special moments & I hope that my images add to the memories.STJ-ML--LORD4823-18 STJ-ML--LORD4926-56 STJ-ML--LORD4928-57 STJ-ML--LORD4933-60 STJ-ML--LORD4939-61By now Kiti had done some shots of the boys in stylish ‘Reservoir Dogs’ mode before making their way to the church where she did some lovely shots of the groom & his Dad.STJ-KS--IMG_1875-21 STJ-KS--IMG_1933-30 STJ-KS--IMG_1951-32By now it was time for the bridesmaids to board the route master bus along with the other guests to make the journey to the church.STJ-ML--LORD4973-73 STJ-ML--LORD4975-74Now this photographer had to make sure he didn’t miss the bus! I really love the moment when the Father-of-the-Bride sees his daughter in her finery so I didn’t want to miss this either. It was a really touching moment & Stacey’s dad was quite emotional as she glided down the stairs.STJ-ML--LORD4959-68

STJ-ML--LORD4951-64As Stacey arrived her bridesmaids were waiting at the Lych-gate for her & they made their way into the church for Stacey to meet her groom.STJ-ML--LORD4990-82 STJ-ML--LORD4994-84STJ-ML--LORD5019-95 STJ-ML--LORD5052-108 STJ-KS--IMG_2123-60 STJ-KS--IMG_2136-63After a lovely service Stacey & Lewis made their way out of the church to a flurry of confetti – considering storm Desmond had hit Britain we got some great shots before the confetti was blown away!STJ-ML--LORD5110-131Everyone popped back onto the bus to make the journey back to Eynsham with the Bride & Groom along with a glass of prosecco.STJ-ML--LORD5138-139 STJ-ML--LORD5143-141On returning to Eynsham Hall we used the wonderful architecture for the group shots before taking Stacey & Lewis off for some shots with the two of them.STJ-ML--LORD5192-153 STJ-ML--LORD5531-210 STJ-ML--LORD5501-204 STJ-ML--LORD5579-218It was now time for Stacey & Lewis to return to their guests for the wedding breakfast & speeches.STJ-ML--LORD5682-261 STJ-ML--LORD5684-262 STJ-ML--LORD5719-275 STJ-ML--LORD5736-284 STJ-KS--IMG_2368-101After the wedding breakfast it was time for Lewis to take his bride onto the dance floor for their first dance as husband & wife.STJ-ML--LORD5848-311

As always, after getting some dance floor & cigar action Kiti & I left everyone on the dance floor & wound our way home.STJ-ML--LORD5793-300 STJ-ML--LORD5823-305 STJ-ML--LORD5874-316 STJ-ML--LORD5897-322

Helen & Will – A Sneak Peek

Last Saturday we woke to sunshine for Helen & Will’s wedding in Ewelme & Roke near Wallingford.HWM-LORD1603-95

Kiti was taken to catch up with Will & the guys at The White Hart in Nettlebed whilst I photographed Helen & her bridesmaids getting ready at her family home in Ewelme.

HWM-LORD1385-42 HWM-LORD1386-43 HWM-LORD1389-44The wedding was held in the historic church of St Mary the Virgin in Ewelme so I was able to make the short walk to the church from Helen’s family home in readiness to photograph the brides arrival. She had the most beautiful car, I see a lot of wedding cars but this really was something different. A vintage Rolls Royce in silver apparently it was never painted, this was the original finish. The way it reflected the light was beautiful.HWM-LORD1459-55 HWM-LORD1462-56It was now time for Will to see his bride & for a beautiful service in the church.

It was a fantastic place for some lovely shots of the two of them together. We also stopped off a couple of times in the lovely village of Ewelme for some more shots.

Helen & Will’s reception was held in a marquee at a fantastic pub called The Home Sweet Home in the nearby village of Roke. Everyone mingled outside in the sunshine before it was time for everyone to join Helen & Will for the wedding breakfast.

Wadham College Pre Wedding Shoot

Last Saturday ( in slightly better conditions than today)  I photographed a lovely couple, Antonia & David for their pre wedding shoot. Their wedding service will be held at Wadham College chapel in Oxford during April. We had a fantastic morning & I captured some great shots of them in & around the college. The fabulous architecture & gardens were a wonderful backdrop & as David was a student at Wadham College the images will be a lasting reminder of one of his favourite places that hold so many wonderful memories.

After the service the reception is being held at The Tythe Barn, Launton one of my favourite wedding venues in Oxfordshire. Will & Emma who run the barn have restored this historical building beautifully & their attention to detail shows in every wedding I have had the pleasure to photograph there.

Please keep an eye out for some of Antonia and David’s wedding photos on my blog sometime in May.  In the meantime for anyone who would like to see more of The Tythe Barn there’s a little surprise coming up…..

Wet Wedding? Don’t panic – your picture will still be fab!

With all this wet stuff coming down its understandable the couples will worry it may rain on their wedding day – I am one of those people, getting married next month myself and wondering how the photos will look if its raining. However in the last 15 years of photographing weddings I have never seen it rain all day long, usually there is a gap in the day when the bride and groom can slip outside with their photographer for some great shots of the two of them together. Above are a few pictures from over the last few years of pictures taken in the rain at weddings. There may not be any bright sunshine but these pictures have atmosphere! So if its a bit wet on your wedding day, never fear, im sure your photographer will be able to get some truely memorable pictures.

In my opinion the best weather for weddings is a bright overcast day with a slight breeze. With a layer of cloud between you and the sun the sunlight will be diffused so no shiny patches and the slight breeze will keep you and your guests cool and even blow that veil a bit for some lovely veil pictures.
